Miss Manners Matters and Occasions
Mini Manners Class:
Afraid to bring your child to a formal dinner? Not sure how your kids are acting at a friend's house for dinner? Mini Manners is for you. Miss Jacki will guide the children through a fun learning adventure that starts with introductions and how to shake hands. She will explain what to do with the linen napkin, and how to eat soup. The children will use real china. While they learn about place settings, silverware, and tea cups, Miss Jacki will review appropriate behavior and conversation.. This is a simple class aimed at 4-7 year olds and will take place at Sugar & Spice Party Planners. Please visit our events calendar for upcoming dates.
Mother & Daughter Formal Tea:
We have teamed up with Mohegan Manor Restaurant & banquet facilities to host this delightful event. Tea will be served at 3 PM. We will start with decadent scones and fresh berries, accompanied by cream and jam. Then we will offer a selection of traditional tea sandwiches, as well as heart shaped children's favorites to appeal to our younger guests. We will finish with a homemade dessert. Several selections of hot tea will be offered, and of course we will also have magical chocolate tea. Miss Jacki will be on hand with her jewelry box, so all of the young ladies can get dolled up, and she will also provide tips on tea etiquette and its history. our next event is listed on the event calendar.
Attention to Etiquette Class:
This four-week class will have a different theme each week, ending with dinner to test our skills. This class is specifically designed to prepare your12-17 year old young ladies for public situations, formal dances, college interviews, the workforce. This training is priceless and it is so much easier when it comes from someone else. The price for the four-week session is $120, which includes the price of the final meal. Week 1: Posture, Proper Introductions, Dress.
Week 2: Bathroom and Telephone Etiquette. Table Setting, Letter writing.
Week 3: Place settings, napkins, posture at the table, passing, using silverware. We will practice in a tea party setting this week. Scones, tea sandwiches, and berries will be served.
Week 4: We will enjoy a delicious meal, in a local restaurant, practicing what we have learned.
Mother & Daughter Etiquette Dinner:
We have teamed up with Mohegan Manor Restaurant & banquet facilities to host this fantastic event. A short reception at 4 PM will be followed by a five course meal in the copper room at Mohegan Manor, by the fireplace. The meal will include appetizer, soup, salad, entree, dessert and a champagne/sparkling cider toast. Menu listed below. Miss Jacki will spend the evening reviewing etiquette and its history in a fun and interesting way while the young ladies dine. A keep sake photo by the fireplace is our gift to you.
The price is $35 per person. Guests are encouraged to bring anyone who is special to them, and make it a family affair with mother, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, fairy godmothers; anyone who will enjoy this special evening. The price includes tax and gratuity.
